IATF16949:2016 {10.3} Continual Improvement

The organization shall continually improve the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the quality management
system.
The organization shall consider the results of analysis and evaluation, and the outputs from management review, to determine if there are needs or opportunities that shall be addressed as part of continual improvement

10.3.1 Continual improvement — supplemental

The organization shall have a documented process for continual improvement. The organization shall include in this process the following:
a) identification of the methodology used, objectives, measurement, effectiveness, and documented information;
b) a manufacturing process improvement action plan with emphasis on thereduction of process variation and waste;
c) risk analysis (such as FMEA).

NOTE Continual improvement is implemented once manufacturing processes are statistically capable and stable orwhen product characteristics are predictable and meet customer requirements.

HOW TO MAKE PROCEDURE FOR CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT

Prepare the continual improvement list based on NC analysis / complaints / employee suggestions to reduce in-house rejection PPM, reduce wastage, improve safety, yield improvement.

Review the feasibility with top management for implementation and include in list of improvements with target date.

Implement  plan for  improvement / suggested improvements in organization through kaizen / pokayoke tools etc.

Monitor the implemented improvement for the three months or three lots if Improve the PQCDS change the respected documents in quality management system. If not improve stop the process.
